COURSE DETAILS

As we ease into winter, glass artist Verity Pulford will offer a sociable & seasonal day to get you in the festive spirit.

On this full day course you will make a variety of colourful decorations which could include Christmas lanterns, fused glass birds and other decorations to hang on your tree.

Using bullseye glass together with frits and confetti, you will also learn about cutting and grinding, creating and using stencils and painting using Glassline pens to add colour and decoration to your piece. Verity will take these home to fire in her kiln ready for collection or postage.

Verity Pulford glass artist in north Wales
YOUR TUTOR

Verity Pulford is a glass artist in rural North Wales. She is fascinated by light, its magical qualities and the atmosphere it can create, the way it moves through glass, reflects, creates shadows.

She is particularly interested and influenced by the cataloguing of nature - from natural history artefacts, early cyanotypes, x-rays, microscopic images and botanical drawings. She also likes to combine techniques- cast, pate de verre, kiln-formed, painted, etched and also found natural materials in her work. She plays with ideas of magical realism- creating her own forms inspired by or combining different plants and organisms.

.

Verity has a 1st class BA Hons in Architectural Glass and is a qualified Art teacher. Her work sells in galleries across the UK. She makes artworks to commission & is a member of The Guild of Makers in Wales.

Stories from our students
Glass courses, classes and workshops in Wales
We had a fabulous time on our glass fusing weekend. Verity was really knowledgeable and very easy going. We were novices but she had lots of ideas to help us out and a wide range of products to choose from. Wernog Wood is a stunning place, perfect for workshops and in such a beautiful setting. The food was lovely, the facilities fabulous, and we were made to feel really welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. We'd love to visit again and will keep an eye out for future workshops. - Emma

Magical Christmas lantern glass workshop in a winter wonderland. John (not all disabilities can be seen) had a lovely time, and so did I. We can't wait for our decorated glass to put into our lanterns. Thank you for a magical time. - Marese
