In our warm and spacious studio workshop, join artist and anatomist Dr. Sarah Simblet for one or two consecutive days of anatomical study and life drawing.
On Saturday, your studies will explore the human form through the lens of anatomy, drawing upon Sarah's fascinating wealth of knowledge. On Sunday, your focus will shift to technique, refining your use of line, tone, form and expression in your drawings.
Sarah will work with a variety of experienced life models, a fully articulated human skeleton, (known affectionately as Grandad), and bring a small selection of real bones from a historical osteology collection for further study and conversation throughout the day, celebrating the structures, forms and wonder of the human body.
Both days are suitable for all levels of ability and drawing experience, or for those with none at all.

It was a lovely day overall - my first experience of life drawing. I enjoyed the variety of approaches that we were introduced to and found the approach of the tutor and model very professional. The tuition was friendly and relaxed and I would have thought of value to many skill levels. - Carol
A fantastic day on my first visit to Wernog Wood, attending the Life Drawing workshop which was expertly led by Dr. Sarah Simblet – very interesting and informative, nicely paced, and good fun, in a relaxed setting with a warm welcome from Claire & Rob the attentive and hospitable hosts. Looking forward to returning soon! - Phil
I came to this course for the second time as I really appreciated it last year. The course itself was excellent and the tuition was inspiring. - Alison
The talented tutor Dr Sarah Simblett together with the very experienced life model Helen created a great day of varied opportunities to draw, learn new techniques, and improve our practice. I definitely want to come again next year. Thanks so much - June
