Bronte Adam printmaker
YOUR TUTOR

Bronte Adam is a printmaker who specialises in relief printing, her preferred method being lino and woodblock. Bronte particularly enjoys the challenge of carving intricate details into her print blocks which she combines with multi coloured separation, giving her clean and vibrant prints. Her prints bring to life galah cockatoos perched in eucalyptus trees or plump ripe grapefruits nestled among leaves

Bronte studied printed textiles and surface pattern design at Leeds Arts University. She has worked both as a freelance artist and as a commercial artist designing prints for homeware and children’s clothing. She has recently finished a major print commission redesigning the packaging for a UK soft drinks company which was launched in early 2022.

Bronte takes inspiration from textile designers such as Josef Frank or the patterns and compositions found in Iznik pottery from the Middle East.

Lino printing courses, classes, workshops and experiences in Wales
My daughter and I had a fantastic day yesterday with Brontë making Lino cut Christmas cards. I have been to other tutors but not like Bronte, she is excellent and we learnt so much. Plenty of workspace, tea, coffee and cake, plus homemade lunch. What more could anyone want. Thank you very much for our super day.  - Lynda

What a fabulous course. Bronte is not just super talented but also an is an excellent teacher, with lots of patience too. I had some basic knowledge of printmaking but the techniques that she taught me have completely upgraded my printmaking and I came away with lots of confidence and ideas. - Tess

My first visit to Wernog Wood, a very warm welcome (and mug of coffee) awaited me and I immediately felt relaxed and at home. Superb workshop area and facilities. I arrived not knowing anyone and left having made new friends.
Excellent course, Bronte is a confident and inspiring tutor with much knowledge and experience of her craft. I had been anxious prior to the course, being a complete beginner in lino cutting and printing, but I need not have worried. I exceeded my expectations thanks to Bronte's positive attitude, encouragement and attentiveness to all her students needs. - Diane

Wernog Wood is absolutely magic, it’s alive with warmth, creativity and bon-homie. Genuinely inspiring space to learn. Everyone so welcoming, I can’t praise it enough!

I came recently on a Lino cut Christmas card course. Brontë is an excellent tutor, patient kind and generous in sharing her knowledge and skills.
It’s also in a beautiful part of Wales so take time to explore. -
