Millinery - make a head turning felt hat
See course details, dates, costs, tutors & stories from students below
A stunning felt hat is the perfect accessory for any occasion - from an everyday addition to your winter wardrobe to a head-turning statement piece for a special occasion
Over this fun two days, Bobbi Heath from Chic Chapeau will share her extensive millinery experience. You will learn how to measure your head, to steam, mould and stiffen your felt over traditional wooden hat blocks. You will then learn stitching and edging techniques, and put the final feather in your cap by adding decorative accoutrements if you choose.
Before the course begins, you will be sent a colour chart from which to choose your perfect hue. With hat block styles suitable for both men and women, you will leave Wernog Wood with anything from a cloche hat to a fedora, or a pillbox to a bucket hat.

Bobbi Heath from Chic Chapeau is a couture milliner who works her magic making bespoke headwear for all occasions.
Bobbi’s passion for hats began at the age of thirteen when she made a tartan jockey cap cut to the pattern of her brothers school cap. The only place she could wear it was going to church. How else could a young potential milliner be noticed? Now some years later than she cares to think about, Bobbi is designing and making hats for discerning clients from her dedicated studio in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside.
Bobbi holds City and Guilds accreditation, levels 2 and 3 along with the diploma in millinery. In the past she has worked with acclaimed milliners, Stephen Jones and Noel Stewart. Available from a variety of bookstores, Bobbi has now published 'Making Felt Hats: A Beginner's Guide to Creating 6 Stunning Styles for All Occasions'.
