Capture the subtle transition from winter's stark beauty to spring's first buds with Lynda Roberts. Mixed media is an exciting way to work, using layers of images, texture and paint to create a collage with layer upon layer of intrigue.

Your choice of materials will evoke the characteristics of your landscape - old OS maps, envelopes with soft textures, or wrappers in muted winter-to-spring colour palettes. These colours, textures, and surfaces will become the foundations of your collage, reflecting the bare branches of hawthorn and blackthorn, weathered dry stone walls, and the first delicate hints of emerging spring. Upon these foundations, you will draw and paint, capturing the soft green buds, early flowers, and the luminous light of a Welsh landscape in transition.

This course is aimed at adults, aged 18yrs + and is suitable for beginners to those with some experience

Lynda Roberts studied textile design at the Glasgow School of Art. Having travelled extensively, much of her work is large scale, rich layered multi-media collages which feature both the architectural environment and the natural landscape. These include bold, colourful geometric tiling and intricate carvings of the Alhambra Palace, Granada; textural and colourful Venetian Gothic architecture and canals; spiritual temples and domestic dwellings in the remote uplands of Nepal; exotic plants in the elegant Victorian Palm House in Sefton Park Liverpool; and the rocky shores of Bardsey Island,  North Wales closer to home.

In addition to her own work, she has had a varied and interesting career teaching art in schools on the Wirral.
