On this day exploring local woodlands and moving water with your camera, David White will give you skills and confidence to push your digital photography to new technical and creative levels.
You will learn to get the best out of your equipment & how to visually simplify the complex natural world around you, taking time to think about the core-elements of making a great photograph; subject, light, composition and time.
You may pay a visit to Lady Bagot's Drive and will focus on the Clwydian landscape, starting with a short theory presentation, followed by a ramble with your camera and finish with a demonstration of digital post-processing techniques using example images from the day's photography.
Come equipped with a modern digital camera with interchangeable lens, or a recent model of iPhone, Google Pixel or Samsung Galaxy with a decent camera.

Stories from our students
I have thoroughly enjoyed the course. Being challenged to look at photographs in a different way and in different scales really pushes the bounds of ‘what I know’. The artwork in the afternoon was also very thought provoking and really useful. And the introduction to Lightroom was exceptional. I feel like I’ve learned an awful lot and had some very thought provoking information presented to me. - Dave
Absolutely loved being outside again with my camera under the direction of David. The opportunity to review on-site and receive feedback immediately was invaluable.
A day out with a camera, away from the office, is so good for the soul and mental health. - David
I have done a couple of the photography courses in Wernog Wood. Really enjoyed both of them. David White is very knowledgeable and the photography course is a good mix of theory and taking pictures, with more emphasis on the latter. Getting out and about in the North Wales countryside in the spring and autumn and taking pictures of things that I wouldn't normally see, has been great fun.
The course usually finishes processing some of your pictures in Adobe Light room, which again focuses on enhancing your pictures without getting too techie. - Chris
Great day yesterday, really enjoyed it - definitely inspired me to pick up my camera more often (even in the rain). Nice to see such great photos from the group too. - Simon
It was paced just right for me and I re-learnt a lot about camera settings. Also the tuition on Adobe light room really opened my eyes to what can be achieved with some good editing.
David White is an excellent tutor. It has inspired me to to get out there and take more pictures, which I will make time to do. - Chris
From the base of 'zero', I've gained so much from your inspiring course. - Richard
An excellent day in a well run centre with friendly hosts and an excellent course tutor. I learnt a lot during the day and enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish. Lovely grounds, spacious and very interesting centre. - Des
